If you were asked what your turnover was in September would you be able to answer the question?
How about how much debt was not payed to you- are you chasing debtors?
Let’s try again- what was your profit in September? How much did you spend on marketing? How much did you pay your staff?
What else did your business spend money on? Is this the same as every month? What are your fixed costs?
Do you know the numbers for your business?
If you don’t know the numbers then you have got a problem.
You might be professional at what you do. Maybe you’re a tradesperson or even a solicitor. But you’re not a professional business person. You’re not in total control of your business. Who is in control? Nobody it seems.
Running a business is a profession in itself, it’s a skill in itself. You can’t simply shut your eyes and hope for the best.
If you don’t know the answers to all the above questions then you have something to work on. Something to change in the next few months.
